MESA LONESTAR SPECIAL REPAIR 5W-15W-30W NOT WORKING
I got in an amp that had been worked on by another tech and it was
stuck in 5w mode only
What I had found was the previous tech had unsoldered the gray wire (I
changed it to black because I wanted it a little longer)
when he lifted the main PCB.
Dont do this. it should just unscrew from
the chassis at the other end.
The gray wire pad and the RY-30 pad are so close together I had to use
a microscope to make sure the were seperate.
Well he
solder bridged them ont the underside of the PCB and that killed the
relay.
Replaced the relay and wattage switching is back in action
